PURSE THEFT

PURSE THEFT

Staffordshire Police are advising residents to take extra care with their personal belongings following a recent report of a purse theft in Leek town centre.

To help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of theft, please consider the following advice:

Keep purses, wallets and mobile phones securely stored inside zipped bags.

Avoid leaving valuables visible or easily accessible.

Carry bags close to your body and ensure they are fully fastened.

Be particularly vigilant in busy areas where distractions can make it easier for thieves to operate.

Never leave handbags, purses or other valuables unattended.

Even a momentary lapse can provide an opportunity for opportunistic thieves. By taking a few simple precautions, you can help protect your belongings and reduce the risk of theft.
